Westchester Medical Center receives $2M to train physicians to work in underserved communities

Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Valhalla, New York, has announced a $2 million gift from the Everest Family Foundation to establish a scholarship program aimed at training physicians for careers in rural and underserved communities. The initiative will support graduate medical education through mentorship, expanded post-graduate training pathways, and scholarly engagement for physician-researchers committed to evidence-based practice in high-need settings. The foundation’s commitment is intended to strengthen physician training pipelines and enhance care delivery across WMC Health’s regional network serving approximately three million residents in New York state.
