Google.org, J&J Foundation $5M backs nationwide rural nursing AI training initiative

American Nurses Enterprise has received $5 million in grants from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation and Google.org to expand AI training for nurses nationwide, with priority on rural, remote and underserved communities. The award is matched by $2.5 million from each of ANE’s members: the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation. The initiative will deliver practical, nursing-centered education covering foundational AI concepts, safe implementation and real-world clinical applications. The program aims to build nurses’ confidence and skills in adopting AI while protecting clinical judgment and supporting patient care.
