Huntsville, Alabama’s Drake State receive $5M to modernize automotive workforce training programs

Drake State Community and Technical College in Huntsville, Alabama, has announced a $5 million gift from the E. Hart Fund to support the renovation of the school’s automotive training facility. The grant—among the largest in Drake State history—will modernize hands-on workforce training infrastructure tied to Huntsville’s automotive and manufacturing sectors. Building on a prior $500,000 scholarship endowment, the investment strengthens career pathways in technical education, expands industry-aligned training capacity, and reinforces workforce development as a core driver of regional economic mobility.
