Rockefeller urges emergency coordinated action as global aid falls 23% and development goals stall

The Rockefeller Foundation has issued an urgent global call for coordinated action in response to a 23% drop in official development assistance reported by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for 2025, warning the decline could contribute to up to 9.4 million preventable deaths by 2030. The Foundation is urging governments, philanthropy, and the private sector to respond quickly while advancing new development models in health, food security, and energy. As part of its response, Rockefeller highlights more than $100 million in commitments since 2024 toward initiatives such as the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet and large-scale programs to expand electricity access and school meals globally.
