The Prebys Foundation has purchased a $30.5 million office building in San Diego as part of its broadening strategic investments to support the city’s downtown revitalization. The acquisition of the building in Little Italy where the foundation has its headquarters—funded through a mix of cash and debt— complements its 2025 purchase of another downtown office tower. The real estate investment aligns with the foundation’s broader mission, leveraging its $1.2 billion asset base to drive economic activity and long-term community impact, without reducing its annual charitable grantmaking, which totaled $54.9 million in 2024.
