Slaight Foundation $19M fuels Toronto Housing Lab linking health care and homelessness solutions

Canada’s Slaight Family Foundation has committed a C$25M gift  ($18.5M) to launch the Slaight Family Housing Lab in Toronto, Ontario, led by United Way Greater Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions. The initiative tackles the link between homelessness and health by funding mobile, “wraparound” care teams and scaling housing-first strategies. The investment supports immediate rollout, aiming to house at least 300 people in its first phase and improve long-term outcomes citywide by 2030 through integrated health, housing, and social services.
