New York Attorney General settles contested Bronx estate directing $4M to Bronx nonprofits

New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced a settlement directing $4 million from the estate of the late Herman Price, a resident of the Bronx who died in 2017, to nonprofit organizations across the borough. The settlement directs charitable proceeds toward community services, healthcare, arts, environmental conservation, education, and poverty relief. Nine organizations—including Bronx Works, Bronx Children’s Museum, and New York Botanical Garden—will each receive $300,000, totaling $2.7 million. The remaining $1.3 million will go to the Price Family Foundation to fund grants to additional Bronx nonprofits.
