Michigan State University receives $10M from alumnus to strengthen experimental physics research

Michigan State University in East Lansing has announced a $10 million gift from alumnus Randolph Cowen and his wife, Phyllis, to strengthen experimental physics research and infrastructure. The award is the largest one-time gift from an individual to MSU’s College of Natural Science and will establish an endowed chair and fund two advanced Spec 3 laboratory spaces as part of the university’s Leinweber Center for Engineering and Digital Innovation. The investment aims to attract leading researchers, expand cutting-edge physics research, and provide state-of-the-art facilities for faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and students.
