Leducq Foundation commits $9M to global effort to study stroke- and dementia-linked CAA brain condition

The Leducq Foundation has announced a $9 million, five-year grant to Boston University and Radboud University in the Netherlands, to co-lead an international research network focused on cerebral amyloid angiopathy, a brain condition linked to hemorrhagic stroke, cognitive decline, and dementia. The project will combine advanced brain imaging, molecular biomarkers, experimental models, and global patient data to improve early detection and diagnosis. The award will also fund training and mentorship for early-career scientists, laying the groundwork for future therapies and improved patient care.
