Texas Christian University in Fort Worth has announced the launch of its Institute of Athlete Engineering, funded by a $10 million gift from the Roach Foundation. The institute will study how athletes, military personnel, first responders, and workers in physically demanding industries train, perform, and recover in high-pressure environments. The center will support research, technology development, faculty recruitment, student opportunities, and industry partnerships through an interdisciplinary approach examining how people, systems, environments, and technology shape performance. The institute aims to advance human performance research while creating applied solutions for safety, recovery, and effectiveness across sports and other demanding fields.
