$10M lead gift launches Royal Ottawa campaign for mental health addiction urgent care expansion

Canada’s Waverley House Foundation has committed C$14 million ($10.2 million) to launch The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s C$75 million ($54.7 million) Lives Reclaimed campaign. The initiative aims to transform mental illness and addiction care by funding a new urgent care clinic, expanding brain imaging and biomarker research, and launching a recruitment accelerator for mental health researchers. A public fundraising challenge will further support the effort. Serving about 15,000 patients annually, Royal aims to reduce delays in care and improve outcomes through faster, evidence-based treatment and expanded clinical and research capacity.
