University of Houston receives $3M from Brookshire Foundation to expand veteran services

University of Houston has received a $3M gift from William A. Brookshire Foundation to expand and rename its Veterans Services Center. The grant will fund facility expansion, additional staff, and enhanced programming supporting nearly 3,500 military-connected students from enrollment through career placement. The capital and program investment establishes the Brookshire Veterans Services Center, strengthening transition, advising, and mental health services. The funding aims to improve retention, graduation, and career outcomes for veterans navigating civilian life, as demand for comprehensive support continues to grow nationwide.
