Southern Arkansas University has announced a $4.5M gift from Windgate Foundation to establish the Windgate Scholars Program Scholarship Endowment. The gift—the university’s largest-ever for scholarships—creates a permanent, need-based funding stream supporting low-income and first-generation students, with dedicated Studio Art scholarships launching in 2027. The endowment converts prior annual support into a long-term financial aid pool, expanding access amid rising college costs. Since 2019, Windgate has contributed over $5.8M to SAU to sustain student success, boost graduation outcomes, and strengthen career readiness.
