Toronto’s Sinai Health receives $11M to scale emergency medical care across Canada

Sinai Health in Toronto has announced a C$15 million ($11 million) award from The Gerald Schwartz & Heather Reisman Foundation to the health system’s Schwartz Reisman Emergency Medicine Institute to expand research and scale innovations addressing critical gaps in Canadian emergency care. The gift boosts Schwartz-Reisman support to more than C$50 million ($37 million) to date. The funding will help recruit and train researchers and scale evidence-based programs across Canada, including improved emergency care for seniors, young adults with mental health and substance-use challenges, patients experiencing pregnancy loss, and people receiving cancer diagnoses.
