New York’s SUNY Potsdam has announced a second $1 million gift from Chuck Lorre, through his family foundation, to expand the school’s Student Success Initiative. The award will strengthen the college’s freshman-year Bridges program, and boost personalized guidance and resources at Potsdam’s professional advising center as part of a college-wide effort to improve retention, career outcomes, and social mobility. The gift matches Lorre’s initial $1 million donation in 2024, which launched the initiative and expanded academic and personal support programs for students.
