Bezos Earth Fund commits $100M to expand urban green spaces in eight U.S. cities

The Bezos Earth Fund has announced a $100 million commitment to community organizations and local governments to transform underused urban land into parks, wildlife habitats, and community green spaces. Recipient cities include Allentown, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; Cleveland, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Little Rock, Arkansas; Los Angeles, California; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The investment, part of the BEF’s Greening America’s Cities initiative, will fund projects designed with local residents that expand tree canopy, restore ecosystems, improve recreation, and strengthen climate resilience. The commitment brings the program’s total investment to $150 million across 11 cities as it advances a long-term goal of investing $400 million in urban green infrastructure nationwide.
