Gardiner Foundation awards $1M to launch New York history resource education hub

The Archives Partnership Trust–a nonprofit supported by private donations and New York State funding–in partnership with the state education department, has announced a $1 million award from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation to launch the Educational Resource Center for New York State History. The grant, the largest single private grant in the trust’s history, will create a centralized hub providing access to more than 350 years of historical records and primary-source materials. The funding aims to strengthen history education, civic engagement, evidence-based learning, and research initiatives while expanding K–12 professional development programs statewide.
