Drexel receives record 112.6M from Howley Foundation for engineering programs and scholarships 

Drexel University in Philadelphia has announced a $112.6 million commitment from the foundation of Nick Howley to establish his namesake college of engineering and computing and drive  experiential learning opportunities for students campuswide. The largest in Drexel’s 135-year history includes more than $36 million for new teaching, laboratory and collaborative facilities, as well as an immersive learning center known as the Innovation Garage. More than $76 million will support scholarships, student programming and an endowment designed to strengthen the college’s academic profile. The commitment will also sustain the Howley College Scholars program in perpetuity, increasing access for talented students from Philadelphia, Cleveland, and other communities regardless of financial means.
