Public Welfare Foundation awards $2M for youth incarceration alternatives in Michigan and Tennessee

The Public Welfare Foundation has announced more than $2 million in grants to expand community-based alternatives to youth incarceration in Michigan and Tennessee. The funding includes $800,000 to the Youth Law Center to co-lead Tennessee’s Alliance for Youth Opportunity and Safety, a statewide coalition advancing youth justice reform, and a $1 million grant to the Michigan Center for Youth Justice to lead a coalition focused on diversion programs and reducing youth system involvement. An additional grant to Catalyze Justice will provide technical assistance and coalition-building support aimed at strengthening long-term, community-driven public safety models.
