North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, an historically Black college or university (HBCU) in Greensboro has announced a $4.5 million grant from the Gates Foundation to expand degree-completion pathways for former students through A&T’s Extended Campus initiative. The program aims to reduce barriers for working adults balancing jobs, family responsibilities, and returning to school. The funding will help re-engage more than 17,000 career-stage learners who previously left without earning degrees by expanding online and flexible learning options, strengthening student support services, and improving re-enrollment systems. The grant bolsters A&T’s broader efforts to promote lifelong education and workforce readiness.
