Helmsley $3.2M backs launch of Civica rural mountain west medication access program 

The Civica Foundation in Lehi, Utah,  has announced a $3.2 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to support its three-year initiative to bolster rural hospitals facing critical medication shortages. The funding will expand access to essential generic medications for approximately 225 rural and critical access hospitals across nine states. The grant will cover membership costs and waive purchase commitments, allowing hospitals to secure reliable supplies of shortage-prone drugs without added financial risk. The initiative aims to strengthen services at fragile rural healthcare systems and improve patient access to lifesaving treatments.
