Temple School of Pharmacy receives $1M gift from Marvin Samson to fund scholarship program

Temple School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia has announced a $1 million gift from pharmaceutical executive Marvin Samson through his foundation to expand opportunities for PharmD students facing financial need. The grant establishes a named scholarship program, supporting 10 first-year doctor of pharmacy students annually with $25,000 scholarships per student for four cohorts, aimed at reducing financial barriers and strengthening the region’s pharmacist pipeline. Awarded on the 125th anniversary of the school, the gift enhances long-term student support, improves access and outcomes, and reinforces the university’s commitment to workforce-ready pharmaceutical education.
