Robin Hood commits $38.6M as federal safety-net cuts raise pressure on low-income families

Robin Hood, New York City’s largest anti-poverty nonprofit, has announced $38.6 million in grants to 95 nonprofits as federal safety-net cuts intensify pressure on low-income households. The third-quarter funding brings Robin Hood’s 2026 grantmaking to about $71 million and targets food access, housing stability, child care, education and economic mobility. Key recipients include West Side Campaign Against Hunger ($500,000 for emergency food distribution); City University of New York ($300,000 for benefits enrollment); and Bank Street College of Education ($1 million for early-childhood staff training).
