The Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina has announced its commitment to raising $100 million to expand safe, affordable housing across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties over five years. The initiative, Tri-County Housing Futures Fund, will combine grants, loans, and co-investment to support new for-sale and rental homes, repairs to existing properties, and housing finance. J.P. Morgan Chase has provided an initial $500,000 grant to establish THFF’s leadership, governance, and operating capacity and attract additional capital. Housing created through the initiative will carry affordability protections for at least 50 years, with the first community investment planned for early 2027.
