Tulane receives $4M for chair in medicine and to advance lung disease research, innovation

Tulane University in New Orleans has received a $4M gift from the family of the late Allen A. Johnson, Jr. to advance pulmonary research and patient care. The award establishes a named chair in medicine and an Acceleration Fund within the university’s department of medicine. The funding will support world-class physician-scientists, rapid translational discovery initiatives, and therapeutic breakthroughs in pulmonary fibrosis and chronic lung diseases. The award will fund efforts to speed lab-to-clinic solutions and improve patient outcomes.
