WellFunded–a private philanthropy technology company–has launched a database mapping Canada’s $17.3 billion donor-advised fund landscape, aiming to make information on DAF sponsors and assets easier for charities and others to understand. The database tracks 205 organizations using Canada Revenue Agency filings and shows the 10 largest sponsors control 66% of assets. The Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal leads with C$2.52 billion, followed by Charitable Gift Funds Canada with C$2.4 billion and The Winnipeg Foundation with $1.1 billion. WellFunded aims to update the database regularly as new filings become available, improving visibility into this growing concentration of philanthropic wealth.
