The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston has announced a $130 million commitment from the Sealy & Smith Foundation to expand its namesake heart and vascular institute. The award builds on a $50 million investment made in 2025. The funding will create an inpatient cardiovascular hub, outpatient center, advanced imaging capabilities, and new research and education facilities, strengthening cardiovascular care, physician training, and scientific discovery. The multiyear commitment positions UTMB to expand clinical capacity and improve cardiovascular outcomes across Texas and nationally.
