Danaher commits $1M to frontline relief efforts for Ebola emergency in DRC and Uganda

Danaher, a Washington, D.C.-based health sciences firm whose subsidiary manufactures Ebola and hemorrhagic fever diagnostics, has announced a $1 million commitment to Save the Children, the International Rescue Committee and World Food Program USA to bolster Ebola response efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The funding–through the Danaher Foundation–will support urgent needs including infection prevention, hygiene support, community healthcare and emergency food assistance during the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak. The partnership aims to strengthen frontline operations, accelerate disease containment, deliver medical supplies and provide critical support to vulnerable communities, particularly children facing higher risks from the outbreak.
