Hartford Foundation awards $2.6M to boost nursing home quality and workforce pipelines

The John A. Hartford Foundation has announced two grants totaling $2.6 million to the Moving Forward Coalition ($1.4M) and the Teaching Nursing Home Collaborative ($1.2M) to improve nursing home care nationwide. The funding will scale certified nursing assistant career pathways, resident engagement programs and partnerships between nursing schools and nursing homes nationally. The funding advances the Age-Friendly Health Systems movement, supporting care models centered on resident goals and priorities. The funding builds on the foundation’s long-term efforts to strengthen healthcare workforce pipelines, improve quality and expand age-friendly practices.
