Western University in London, Ontario, has received a C$4.1 million ($2.9M) gift from local philanthropists Frank and Janice Lochan to advance brain health research and accelerate progress against neurodegenerative diseases at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The donation will establish a named chair in neuroimaging and postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience. The university will match the contribution, creating an C$8 million endowed research chair to recruit leading researchers and expand neuroimaging capabilities. The initiative aims to improve the understanding, detection, and monitoring of neurological disorders while building the pipeline for next-generation neuroscience research talent.
