Midland College, a community college in Midland, Texas, has announced a $20 million award from the Scharbauer Foundation to support construction of a new applied technology complex and expand career and technical education opportunities across the Permian Basin. The grant will help fund three new buildings dedicated to programs in welding, diesel, petroleum, automation, and natural gas compression technologies. Once completed, the expansion is expected to serve more than 700 additional students annually and help meet growing regional workforce demands. The initiative will also help expand Health Sciences dual-credit programs, creating capacity for 300 additional students in high-demand healthcare fields.
