Ken Griffin loans copies of Emancipation Proclamation, 13th Amendment to Lincoln Memorial

The National Park Foundation has announced that Kenneth C. Griffin, the billionaire founder of the Citadel hedge fund, will loan original signed copies of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment for public display at the Lincoln Memorial as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration. The documents will be exhibited through June 2027 in the newly opened Lincoln Memorial Undercroft museum, which will open at the end of June. Display of the documents aims to expand public access to foundational historical documents, strengthen civic education, and highlight President Abraham Lincoln’s legacy while drawing millions of visitors to the newly enhanced memorial.
