The University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine has announced a $3.3 million award from the John and Tami Marick Foundation to advance Alzheimer’s disease research related to people with Down syndrome. The funding supports five Vanguard clinical trial sites and the launch of a new trial at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. The award will also support a program to employ people with Down syndrome at clinical trial sites. The research initiative is designed to accelerate Alzheimer’s intervention development in at-risk populations to improve early detection, expand therapeutic options, and strengthen inclusion for underserved communities.
