The Kresge Foundation has announced $7 million in program-related investments through its Social Investment Practice to expand community-based climate resilience and clean energy access across the U.S. The funding includes a $3 million PRI loan to RePurpose Capital and a $400,000 grant to the National Trust for Historic Preservation to support adaptive reuse and decarbonization of underutilized buildings in historically disinvested communities. Additional investments include a $2 million loan to Capital Good Fund to expand community solar financing and preserve access to federal clean energy tax incentives, and a $2 million loan to launch the Louisiana Clean Energy Fund for community solar projects in New Orleans. The investment initiative aims to unlock additional capital, strengthen climate resilience, and expand equitable access to the benefits of clean energy.
