Colorado School of Mines receives $5M investment to expand lunar simulation and research program

The Angel Family Foundation has announced a $5 million commitment to Colorado School of Mines Space Resources Program to support expansion of space resources education, research, faculty leadership, student funding, and planetary simulation facilities. It establishes The Angel Family Foundation Chair for Space Resources and additional professorship and research funding streams, while bolstering graduate student support and upgrading on-campus lunar and planetary simulation facilities designed to accelerate training and innovation for the emerging space economy. The investment is intended to strengthen Mines’ leadership in space resources, attract top students and faculty, and advance interdisciplinary solutions for sustainable off-Earth exploration and resource utilization.
