Venture313 receives $6.4M from Gilbert Foundation to scale Detroit entrepreneur program

The Gilbert Family Foundation has awarded $6.4 million to expand Venture313, a Detroit-based startup support initiative run in partnership with TechTown Detroit, ID Ventures, and the Detroit Development Fund. The new funding builds on an initial $10 million commitment launched in 2022, bringing total program investment to more than $15.6 million. Venture313 provides early-stage capital, mentorship, and investor connections to local founders, helping startups secure follow-on funding and scale operations. Since inception, the program has deployed $6 million across roughly 120 startups and helped catalyze more than $60 million in outside investment, strengthening Detroit’s entrepreneurial pipeline and long-term economic mobility.
