Mark and Waxman cancer research foundations merge, launch $15 institute to accelerate breakthroughs

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research has officially merged with Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, deepening a long-running alliance to accelerate cancer breakthroughs. At the center is the Samuel Waxman Institute for Aging & Cancer, a new hub committing $15 million over three years to decode how aging fuels cancer. With global cases expected to spike as populations age, the initiative zeroes in on biology, risk prediction tools, and earlier intervention—aiming to turn aging from cancer’s biggest driver into its most strategic target.
