Toronto Metropolitan University has announced a C$10 million ($7.4 million) award from the McCall MacBain Foundation to support scholarships in nursing, midwifery, social work, public health, and nutrition. An endowed fund will provide renewable scholarships to at least 30 students annually and support about 300 students over 10 years. The program targets students facing financial barriers amid rising tuition and reduced publicly supported financial aid. The initiative aims to strengthen Canada’s healthcare workforce by expanding access to education and supporting future clinicians and public health leaders.
