Siemens Foundation commits $2.5M to expand workforce training at North Carolina community colleges

The Siemens Foundation, the American-based philanthropic arm of German tech and manufacturing giant Siemens AG, has announced a $2.5 million commitment to the North Carolina Community College System in support of a tech and electronics career training program across the state’s 10 community colleges. The collaborative, performance-based initiative will provide $250,000 to each school to help modernize curricula, expand enrollment by 20% over three years, and support student needs like childcare and transportation. Anchored by programs at Wake Technical Community College, the effort aims to close workforce gaps and prepare a diverse pipeline for high-demand electrical infrastructure careers.
