AGA backs 84 researchers with $2.9M to advance high-risk, high-reward digestive health breakthroughs 

AGA Research Foundation has announced a $2.9 million grant commitment to 84 researchers across institutions including Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota), Yale University (New Haven, Connecticut), and Columbia University (New York City) to support innovative digestive disease research and accelerate treatments and patient outcomes. The research awards, funded through donor-supported programs, back early- and mid-career scientists studying gastrointestinal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and related conditions. The competitive grant program aims to fuel breakthroughs in disease diagnostics and therapy with a focus on advancing high-risk, high-reward research while strengthening the pipeline of the digestive health innovation ecosystem.
