Morehouse College and Spelman College have received a joint $2 million gift from the Crawford family to bolster long-term academic access and leadership development at the historically Black college and universities (HBCUs) in Atlanta. The unrestricted gifts from George I. Crawford Jr. (Morehouse ‘96), Marcus H. Crawford (Morehouse ‘98), and Christine Crawford (Spelman ‘94) aim to strengthen endowments, student scholarships, and campus development, including Morehouse’s new Campus Center and innovation hub. Half of Morehouse’s share goes to its endowment, with the rest funding student-facing infrastructure.
