The United Nations has announced a $140.5 million emergency funding allocation to humanitarian operations across Haiti, targeting one million people amid escalating violence, hunger, and displacement. Managed through the UN’s Haiti Humanitarian and Central Emergency Response funds, the multilateral grant combines $121.5 million targeted for high-need communes (municipalities), $10 million for underfunded services, and $9 million for air logistics. The funding supports food aid, health care, clean water, shelter, and protection services, including care for abuse survivors and malnourished children. The coordinated allocation aims to stabilize conditions in 26 high-priority communes ahead of a broader $880 million response effort planned for 2026.
