UC Berkeley Athletics raises record $88.5M for Fiscal 2026 as major donor support surges

The University of California, Berkeley has announced that Cal Athletics raised $88.5 million in gifts and pledges for the fiscal year ending in June 2026, setting a second consecutive fundraising record, surpassing last year’s haul by $2 million. Support for football, men’s and women’s basketball jumped from $6.8 million last year to $30.6 million in 2026. More than $40.6 million will be directed to coaching, training, and travel expenses, as well as for academic and nutrition programs. Led by the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund’s $10 million for a new basketball practice facility, 17 other donors pledged at least $1 million. Endowment gifts totaled $18.3 million, while four crowdfunding campaigns generated more than $5.3 million.
