Clausen family awards $5M to Cincinnati Children’s to advance TSC rare gene disorder research 

Storm Lake, Iowa’s Clausen family has donated $5 million to Ohio’s Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, to launch a multi-year research initiative focused on tuberous sclerosis complex–a rare genetic disorder that causes noncancerous tumors in the brain, skin, kidneys, heart, and lungs. The gift will accelerate precision medicine research and support promising new discoveries. Cincinnati Children’s treats more TSC patients than any other U.S. hospital and, for over a decade, has conducted leading research that has already helped develop the condition’s first FDA-approved treatment.
