USC receives $200M from Mark and Mary Stevens to scale AI breakthroughs and talent across university

The University of Southern California has announced a $200 million commitment from Sequoia Capital partner and Nvidia board member Mark Stevens and his wife, Mary, to support a university-wide artificial intelligence initiative. The award will enable the USC School of Advanced Computing to recruit top AI researchers and scale interdisciplinary work across health sciences, security, business, and the arts. The funding will expand efforts such as the neuroimaging analysis of thousands of brain scans, the development of AI-driven mental health tools, military training simulations, and new degree programs. The investment aims to accelerate discovery, improve disease detection and treatment, and equip students with skills to lead in an increasingly AI-driven economy.
