NYC’s The Shed receives $25M from board member Darla Moore to expand performing arts access

The Shed, a multidisciplinary arts center in New York City founded in 2019,  has announced a $25 million unrestricted gift from philanthropist Darla Moore, a founding board member, to sustain operations, expand audience access, and enable artistic risk-taking. The award reinforces the institution’s capacity to support ambitious artists and free public programming, which reached more than 250,000 visitors last year. The investment positions The Shed to deepen its cultural impact, back ambitious artists, and maintain its role as a leading contemporary arts hub.
