UT Health San Antonio receives $5M to boost dementia research and precision patient care

University of Texas (UT) Health San Antonio has announced a $5 million gift from longtime supporters Bill and Rebecca Reed to UTH’s Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases. The commitment establishes a named fund for the development of precision therapies and supportive care, supporting research, clinical trials, and patient services. The funding strengthens efforts to develop personalized precision treatments, expand caregiver support, and accelerate discoveries through ongoing clinical trials and studies. The investment will also support the newly opened Center for Brain Health, reinforcing the institute’s central role in advancing dementia care and research across South Texas.
