Campbell Foundation commits $3M to Cal Poly Humboldt, expanding cannabis research 

The Campbell Foundation has announced a $3 million endowment to California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt to establish a Cannabis Studies professorship supporting long-term research and academic leadership. The gift—the school’s largest cash donation—will fund a permanent faculty role, with a national search launching in fall 2026. The endowment aims to advance interdisciplinary research spanning environmental science, policy, and agriculture while strengthening collaborations with industry and community partners. The investment is designed to stabilize and expand the program, boosting student research opportunities, and shaping sustainable cannabis practices across California and beyond.
