National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has announced four grants generating more than $2.6 million in conservation impact across the Pecos River watershed in southeastern New Mexico and West Texas. The initiative includes nearly $1.2 million in NFWF funding, supported by Occidental, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, ExxonMobil, the Apache Corporation and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. Projects will restore native grasslands and aquatic habitats, improve pronghorn connectivity and support recovery of imperiled species including the Pecos gambusia and Texas hornshell mussel.
