Dimon Foundation awards $12M to UNCF for HBCU endowments, career pathways

UNCF has announced a historic $12 million gift from Jamie Dimon, CEO of J.P. Morgan Chase, and his wife, Judith, through their foundation to strengthen HBCU endowments and expand pathways into healthcare and education careers. The award will provide $1 million in permanent endowment capital to each of 12 UNCF member institutions across nine states, including Dillard, Edward Waters, Huston-Tillotson, Jarvis Christian, Johnson C. Smith, Miles College, Oakwood, Shaw, Tuskegee, and Voorhees universities, as well as Benedict and Stillman colleges. Each school will provide a $5 million institutional match. The funding is designed to bolster financial sustainability, support long-term planning and expand capacity to prepare educators, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, particularly for first-generation college students.
